Once again, I show my ugly cheap side.
I decided that it would be a lot easier on my hands and back if I were to get a stand to help with all the embroidery/quilting I'm having to do with a costume. Unfortunately they were all between $50 and $100.
So my mom and I dug through the garage for extra wood, nuts, bolts, and washers and put this together. My mom did the majority of the work on it -- Dad doesn't let her play with the power tools when they're working on their cabin. ;D
So far, it's working great!
And with it not being in my lap, it keeps all the extra fabric out of the way without me having to roll it up and pin it (which was causing little rips in the fabric).
. . . Even Momo couldn't help being amazed.
Tomorrow, I will be employed by GameStop.
By far, not my #1 choice, but I can stand shmoozing with geeks about video games for a couple days a week to get me through this holiday season.
We're supposed to wear "polo shirts" to work.. but plain ones are SOOOOOO BORINGGGG. So I'm spicing them up a bit by embroidering some of my favourite characters on to them.
I'm also working on a Pretztail patch also.
Speaking of Pretztails.. How 'bout those pinatas? I know I've wasted several hours of my life on that game. :D
So.. I got some roses embroidered for the collar.
... Three down, thirteen to go. And that is just on the collar.
... Did I also mention that I'm doing this all by hand?

All insanity aside, I spent my Saturday dressed as a boy, eating cookies, and entertaining women.
I feel like such a cheater.
... And I call myself a seamstress.
Ahh.. well, the honeymoon is over and it's back to sewing, sewing, and more sewing.
